Malvani - Three labourers lost their lives while cleaning a toilet tank at Malvani on Thursday morning.
The three have been identified as Murtibhai Harijan (30), Mayakashi Harijan (26) and Kashi Harijan (45). A fourth labourer, identified as Rajkumar, has also been injured in the accident.
According to sources, all three died due to suffocation in the septic tank of the toilet. The four labourers had entered the tank of a toilet inside a housing society near Malvani church on Thursday morning. However, all four started suffocating due to the toxic gases inside the tank. The fire brigade was informed, but three of them succumbed before the fire brigade officers could rescue them. The Malvani police are conducting further investigations into the episode.
