Mumbai University, on June 24, Monday, released the third merit list for students applying for admissions in the University-affiliated degree colleges. Similar to the first and second merit list, the cutoff for admission in various degree courses has been very high which has resulted in disappointment for the students.
The merit list in majority of colleges has been closed with cutoff close to 90 per cent. Due to which, students who have scored 85 per cent are also facing a dilemma to secure admission in their desired colleges.
While there has been a decline in the number of students for seeking admission in Arts and Commerce oriented courses, the number of admissions for the self-financing courses has increased this. However, the majority of students were seen seeking admission in Arts-oriented courses.
Accordingly, the students who fall under the cutoff list and wish to seek admissions in their desired colleges can secure admissions by June 27. On the other hand, the students who are yet to secure admission in any college can wait for the Second Phase or can apply directly to Mumbai University.
