PRAYAS Foundation clears 150 kg of trash from Marve Beach on Gandhi Jayanti

PRAYAS Foundation as a part of its vision to make India cleaner and more beautiful, cleaned Marve Beach on the occasion of 150th anniversary of Gandhi Jayanti. The foundation cleaned about 150 kg of garbage from the beach.

On the occasion of 150th Gandhi Jayanti, ex-students of Fatima Devi English High School, Malad East, who have formed PRAYAS Foundation, took up an initiative of cleaning up Marve beach in Malad West.

PRAYAS Foundation is an NGO that thrives to make the country a better place. The foundation's vision is to conduct social work every two months and as a part of its vision, they chose to clean the beach on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti as a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, who dedicated his entire life to cleanliness.

It is a small step towards making India clean and beautiful by PRAYAS Foundation. There are many such activities which will be taken up by them in the future," a PRAYAS Foundation representative told Mumbai Live.

The representative further added, "The drive was conducted with the assistance of senior members of Fatima Devi alumni association, Members of Mi Maladkar, NSS unit of Patkar college, many youngsters, and also few social workers of Jai Jawan group from Virar- Vasai."

Meanwhile, the initiative was conducted by more than 50 volunteers altogether and garbage weighing up to 150 kg was removed from the beach.
