Adani Group has announced plans to build two major healthcare campuses in Mumbai and Ahmedabad. The project will cost INR 6000 crore and will be called Adani Health Cities. The company is partnering with the US-based Mayo Clinic for this plan.

The Mumbai campus will have a 1,000-bed hospital. It will be the city's largest private hospital. Currently, the largest private hospital is the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital with 750 beds. The civic-owned SevenHills Hospital has the capacity for 1,500 beds, but only 400 are available due to legal issues.

However, in Ahmedabad, Adani Group will build a medical college. It will accept 150 undergraduate students every year. The campus will also have over 80 residents and more than 40 fellows. There will be step-down and transitional care facilities. Advanced research facilities will also be included.

Mayo Clinic will provide advice on clinical procedures and operations. The organisation will also help integrate technology into healthcare. There will be a focus on digital systems and improving treatment quality.

Adani Group plans to build similar campuses in other Indian cities and rural areas. The initiative will be carried out by its non-profit healthcare division. The goal is to provide affordable medical education and high-quality healthcare.

As per a report by HT, Adani Group’s chairman said the partnership with Mayo Clinic will raise healthcare standards in India. The focus will be on complex disease treatment and medical innovation.
