State launches 'Halo Vaxi' to help mothers to keep up with routine immunization of babies

Many mothers get confused while vaccinating their babies. They also find it hard sometimes to remember the vaccination dates. Therefore, the state government has decided to make vaccination information available on mobile. A WhatsApp chat bot called 'Hello Vaxi’ has been launched to provide reliable information about vaccination to mothers. Currently this chatbot is available in English and Hindi, soon it will be available in Marathi.

Hello Vaxi, a WhatsApp chat bot, has been developed in collaboration with the Department of Public Health and USAID, Momentum Routine Immunization Transformation and Equity Project. It will be used to provide all the information related to the vaccination of the baby and help in the vaccination by clearing the misconceptions. Although this app was launched a few days ago, it is only available in two languages, English and Hindi. Work is underway to make this information available in Marathi. 

Various options are available to use ‘Hello Vaxi' WhatsApp chatbot after sending the message 'Hi' to the WhatsApp number 8929 850850. One can know the necessary information about vaccination by selecting the appropriate option. Vaccination FAQs, baby vaccination schedule, as well as information about the nearest health centre through a map are made available on this chatbot. Therefore, the 'Hello Vaxi' WhatsApp chatbot will become a 24-hour vaccination friend for the citizens, informed the health department official.
