The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced that CD Barfiwala and Gokhale bridges will be opened for traffic on Thursday, July 4.
The BMC administration said that after the completion of the alignment work, the required load test has been conducted, the result of which has been positive. After all investigations, VJTI issued NOC to BMC late night on June 30. Therefore, other checks will be completed before starting the traffic, after which both the bridges will be opened for traffic on July 4 at 5 pm.
Once the bridge is opened, motorists will be able to reach Juhu from Western Express Highway via Teli Gali Bridge, Gokhale Bridge and Barfiwala Bridge. The distance is about 9 km, which currently takes drivers about 45 minutes to cover, which will be completed in just 15 minutes after the bridge is opened.

Earlier, the civic body had announced to open this bridge from July 1. Accordingly, some people started using the bridge even before its opening. Now the BMC has asked the DN Nagar police to investigate the entire matter to stop those who use the bridge.
Gokhale Bridge was opened for traffic on 26 February. But the distance between Gokhale Bridge and Barfiwala Bridge in Andheri East was about one and a half meters. So the BMC administration had to face public criticism. The second part of the bridge is planned to be opened for traffic by March 31, 2025.
