MHADA to vacate around 9,000 houses during Dussehra

There is good news for Mumbaikars and Thanekar who want to buy a house. The citizens will now have an opportunity to buy affordable housing near the city, even though they have been reluctant to leave the MHADA homes in Mumbai for the past two years.

The Konkan division of MHADA has decided to vacate around 9,000 houses on the occasion of Dussehra. The lottery includes 6,500 houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 2,000 under the Konkan Mandal Housing Project and 500 houses under the 20 per cent scheme.

Like the Mumbai division of MHADA, leaving the Konkan division was also stalled for the last three years. In 2018, it was leaving for 9,018 houses.

Nitin Mahajan, Chief Officer, Konkan Mandal told that the advertisement for this project will be published soon.

These houses will be for the very low, low and middle-income group. The houses will be located at Mira Road, Vartaknagar in Thane, Bolinge in Virar, Kalyan, Vadavalli and Gotheghar in Thane.

Moreover, the withdrawal of Konkan Mandal was announced a few months back. However, the release got delayed due to some technical and other reasons.

According to the information given by the senior officials of the board, 300 to 700 sq. Houses up to ft. The cost of the houses will be between INR 12 lakhs and INR 56 lakhs.

City-wise distribution of houses:

• There are 196 houses, 1 BHK and 2 BHK for the middle-income group on Mira Road.
• 67 small group houses are being evacuated in Vartak Nagar, Thane. The cost of these houses will be between INR 38 lakhs and INR 40 lakhs.
• There are 1300 houses in Virar-Bolling. Of these, about a thousand are small and the rest are from the middle class.
• 2000 houses in Kalyan belong to a very low-income group and their cost will be INR 16 lakhs.
• Gotheghar, Thane – 1200 houses (300 sq ft) for low-income group, cost INR 17 lakhs.
• 20 houses in Vadavalli, 350 houses in Kasarvadavali are for small groups and the price will be INR 16 lakhs.
