The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) is planning to build an arm bridge that will connect the Koparkhairane and Ghansoli nodes via the Mahape loop. The bridge will provide a direct link and improve traffic flow in the area. The estimated cost of the project is INR 24.23 crore.

Currently, drivers use a small subway near Koparkhairane train station to access the Koparkhairane node. There is also an old road from the Thane-Belapur (TB) road connecting to Ghansoli village. These methods require long detours to reach destinations. The subway also gets waterlogged during the monsoon.

This new bridge will solve this issue and provide relief to people travelling between Belapur and Thane. Drivers on the TB road will be able to use the arm bridge. It will start at the end of the flyover on TB Road near Dhirubhai Ambani Knowledge City (DAKC) on the lane going towards Thane.

The new arm bridge will also connect to the Koparkhairane-Mahape flyover. This flyover would end between the two nodes of the planned Koperkhairne and Ghansoli arm bridge. The existing Mahape flyover connects the MIDC area with Koparkhairane and Ghansoli individually. But, there is no direct access from the TB road to the nodes.

NMMC has issued a request for bids to build the arm bridge and a rail over bridge (ROB). The bidding process is expected to be completed by the end of the month. Once finalised, construction will begin immediately.
