Ajit Pawar has been blackmailed: Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut

Amid the political chaos in Maharashtra after Devendra Fadnavis took over as Chief Minister and Ajit Pawar as his Deputy CM, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Saturday claimed that Ajit Pawar was "blackmailed" into joining hands with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to form the government in the state. 

Raut further said that Ajit Pawar might return to the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). Dhananjay Munde, who was present during the oath ceremony at Raj Bhawan, was contacted, Raut added. 

NCP leader Dhananjay Munde has been contacted and Ajit Pawar may also return to the NCP fold. We have information how Ajit Pawar was blackmailed and will expose the same soon," said Raut while talking to the media. 

Raut said that he will expose the same in Saamana.

The Shiv Sena's firebrand leaders said that the new government was formed at 7:00 in the morning. "Sins are committed only in the darkness,"  Raut asserted. 

Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday morning took the oath as Maharashtra Chief Minister and returned to power for the second term. In a shocking move, NCP leader Ajit Pawar swore in as the Deputy Chief Minister at Raj Bhawan. 

The oath ceremony was administered under Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari. The President’s rule in Maharashtra which was revoked in the early morning around 5:50 AM.
