Amid Elgar Rally, the Shivprathishthan Hindustan Sangathan on Wednesday carried out a protest in respect of their Guruji Sambhaji Bhide.
When asked about their demands and the reason for carrying out the morcha at Azad Maidan, the protestors said that the allegations on Sambhaji Bhide and Milind Ekbote are false and lies are being spread by Prakash Ambedkar over this issue.
A young Maratha was also killed in the Bhima-Koregaon violence and Prakash Ambedkar is responsible for this killing,” a protestor asserted.
Bhide has been allegedly held responsible for instigating violence against Dalits in Pune’s Bhima-Koregaon. Earlier on Monday, Bharipa Bahujan Mahasangh (BBM) chief and the grandson of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, Prakash Ambedkar initiated a morcha - Elgar rally - demanding the arrest of Sambhaji Bhide.
The supporters of Sambhaji Bhide said that the "CM has given clean chit to Bhide in the Maharashtra Assembly and those who made allegations against Sambhaji Bhide should be prosecuted by the state."
The morcha organised by the right-wing group was called off after the delegation met Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Earlier, Ambedkar gave an ultimatum to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to arrest Bhide within eight days or be ready for Vidhan Sabha Gherao. However, the CM on Tuesday gave a clean chit to Sambhaji Bhide and said that Bhide was not present in the area when the attack happened.
