Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday advised the leaders of the Mahayuti to avoid open debates and open disputes in the party. Shah reviewed BJP's assembly election preparations at night. Sources said that Shah gave instructions to avoid the mistakes which led to failure in the Lok Sabha elections.


Shah is on a two-day visit to Mumbai and discussed important issues with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday. In the wake of the Assembly elections, the leaders of the Mahayuti should exercise restraint and take care that the image of the party is aptly presented to the public. Shah suggested that the seats should be allotted based on certain criteria, suitable candidates should be selected who have the ability to win.

The issue of appointment of twelve MLAs to the Legislative Council is stuck due to the controversy in the Mahayuti. Ajit Pawar did not accept BJP's proposal of six for BJP and three each for Shiv Sena and NCP. There is a possibility of a solution in this regard. 


Shah held a meeting with the leaders of BJP's State Steering Committee at Sahyadri Guest House. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, State President Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Mumbai President MLA Ashish Shelar, Girish Mahajan, Ravindra Chavan, Pankaja Munde, Raosaheb Danve and other leaders were present in this meeting.
