Maharashtra Navnirman Sena or MNS could not win a single seat in the recently held Maharashtra Assembly elections. Due to this, questions were raised about the party's working methods and further progress. Also, talks of the MNS-Thackeray group coming together were also raised. In this background, a big update has come out about MNS where there will be major changes in the party. MNS leader Sandeep Deshpande has given information about this to the media.
A few days ago, MNS President Raj Thackeray, while wishing the workers, office bearers and leaders a happy New Year, appealed to them to forget what happened in the previous elections and move forward. Against this backdrop, Raj Thackeray called a meeting of all MNS division presidents. In this meeting, Raj Thackeray is said to have ordered the department presidents to prepare for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections.
What did Sandeep Deshpande say about the meeting?
Meanwhile, after this meeting, Sandeep Deshpande interacted with the media. He said that there was a wide discussion regarding upcoming municipal elections in the meeting. “Now the assembly elections have taken place. A meeting of all the division presidents of Mumbai was called for how to face the upcoming municipal elections. All the leaders were also present in it. Raj Thackeray has decided to completely reform the party in the next few days", said Sandeep Deshpande.
Performance of MNS in assembly elections
MNS had fielded 128 candidates in the recently held assembly elections. However, none of his seats were elected. MNS MLA Raju Patil also lost from Kalyan. Raj Thackeray's own son Amit Thackeray was defeated from Mahim assembly constituency. It was seen that Sada Saravankar was upset due to the controversy over his support. It was also seen that differences arose between the BJP and the Shiv Sena (Shinde group) due to their support.
Meanwhile, Raj Thackeray had mentioned in his social post on the occasion of New Year that he would soon give detailed guidance to party leaders, workers and officials.
