Arora Surinder Mohan, the Bharat Jan Aadhaar Party candidate from North-West Mumbai, has lodged a complaint against an individual at the Vanrai police station for allegedly using a mobile phone at the counting center in Nesco on June 4. Police said they are investigating. FIR will be filed soon. According to the complainant, this person is close to a prominent politician, as per the report by The Free Press Journal.


Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate Amol Kirtikar has already objected to the counting process. They are preparing to appeal against Ravindra Waikar's winning verdict in the Bombay High Court. According to police sources, the person was walking in Nesco Center on June 4.

Representatives of other candidates found him using a mobile phone at the counting station. The complainant approached then approach the counting officer, who advised him to approach the police. Thereafter, the complainant filed a case in Vanrai Police Station. According to the Election Commission guidelines, the use of electronic devices such as phones, laptops, tablet computers and calculators during the counting process is strictly prohibited.

Senior Inspector Rampyare Rajbhar said that they have the list of those who were allowed to use mobile phones at the center during the counting of votes. They are investigating whether this mobile belongs to that person or someone else. Further legal action will be taken accordingly.
