Mumbai Suburban District Collector on Sunday, April 7, issued a statement, giving a stern warning and said that action will be taken against offices and factories in the district if their employees/staff complain that they have not been given paid leave or two-hour break on the day of voting for the Lok Sabha elections 2024.
According to the dates announced by the Election Commission, voting will be held in the fifth phase on May 20 in Mumbai suburban district.
In a notice, Mumbai Suburban District Collector Rajesh Kshirsagar, who is also the returning officer, said that offices which cannot give the entire day off to their employees should provide two hours of leave with the permission of the collector office.
It says that institutions will face action if complaints of non-compliance are received.
