Keeping in mind the inconvenience caused by the 36-hour jumbo block which started from 12:30 midnight on Thursday at Thane on Central Railway, the State Election Commission has allowed its officers and employees to remain absent on May 31. However, the concerned officers and employees have to attend the office on any holiday and compensate for this day.



Jumbo block started at 12.30 midnight on May 30 for technical works at Thane station on Central Railway. This block will continue till 12:30 pm on Sunday, June 2. Officers and employees living on this road will face difficulties to attend office due to the block. Keeping this matter in mind, the State Election Commission has issued a circular and given relief to the officers and employees.

It will be inconvenient and difficult for officials, employees of the Commission traveling via Central Railway and Harbour route to come to the office on the May 31. Therefore, it has been mentioned in this circular that the officers and employees who are absent on May 31, without deducting their leave, are allowed to attend the office on any holiday and make up for the said day.

This decision taken by the State Election Commission has given relief to the officers and employees during the jumbo block period. However, as compensation for this day, the concerned officers and employees will have to attend the office on a holiday.
