Amid the ongoing construction for Mumbai Metro 3 project, Shiv Sena MP Anil Desai on Thursday demanded the upcoming Dadar metro station to be named after Shiv Sena Bhawan. Desai's logic says that the same should be done due to the close proximity of the metro station from the party’s headquarters.
The Shiv Sena leader wrote to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis demanding the same. In the letter, Desai wrote that Shiv Sena Bhawan is right next to the upcoming metro station. Therefore, it should be named as “Shiv Sena Bhavan” Metro station.
Under Metro 3 project of the MMRC, the metro station in Dadar is being constructed near Shiv Sena Bhavan. However, the Central Railway (CR) and Western Railway (WR), both already have Dadar as the name for the station. So, there is no need to repeat the same for the metro,” the letter read.
