Will elect 40 corporators in North Mumbai in BMC elections: Piyush Goyal

BJP has started preparations for the upcoming Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections and MP and Union Minister Piyush Goyal has expressed his determination to elect 40 BJP corporators from North Mumbai which is the stronghold of BJP. At present there is a double engine government in the state and after the municipal election, they will bring a triple engine government and develop Mumbai, for which the municipal election will be held soon, he expressed hope.


Piyush Goyal organised a joint meeting at the municipal headquarters on Saturday to review the various works in North Mumbai Lok Sabha constituency. The meeting was held in the presence of BMC Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani and MMRDA Commissioner Sanjay Mukherjee. BJP MLA Atul Bhatkhalkar from Kandivali in North Mumbai, Manish Chaudhary from Dahisar and former corporators were also present in this meeting. In this meeting, various infrastructure projects in North Mumbai were reviewed.

Discussions were held in this meeting to speed up all the projects related to health, education, infrastructure in this constituency between Dahisar, Borivali, Kandivli, Malad. This was the third meeting in the last five months since Goyal became an MP. Speaking to the media, Goyal said that our aim is to make North Mumbai a better Mumbai.


Lokhandwala DP Road, Malad Development Project, Development Playground, Cleanliness Campaign, Identification and Planning for Development of Tourist Spots, Activities to Train 100 Self Help Groups, Special workshops for the Koli community, construction of a cultural center, construction of a parking lot at Borivali (East), measures to improve health services, studies and plans regarding the Buddha statue in the Sanjay Gandhi National Park, widening of Poisar river, rehabilitation etc. were discussed in detail.
