The first phase of Mumbai's first 'Colaba - Bandra - Seepz Metro 3' route between Aarey - BKC was commissioned on October 7. Now the second phase from Colaba to BKC will be opened by May 2025, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has assured in the Assembly.
Colaba – Bandra – Seepz Metro 3' is the first underground metro in Mumbai. The first phase of this route was expected to get a good response. But this expectation failed. On the one hand, the response of the passengers was not as expected, on the other hand, the series of technical problems continued since the phase was put into service. Devendra Fadnavis clarified that now the second phase will also start by May.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said in the Legislative Assembly, "Metro works have been started rapidly in Maharashtra. Now the work of Mumbai Metro 3 has reached its final stage. We have opened the first phase for passenger traffic. The second phase is from BKC to Colaba. Mumbai will get a real lifeline due to this phase. Due to this, 17 lakh passengers will travel. So far 6 lakh people are traveling as passengers. Because connectivity is not complete. We will open Metro 3 by May 2025.”
