MSRTC to employ 8,022 drivers and carriers for State Transport

Transport Minister and State Transport (ST) Corporation President Diwakar Raote recently announced that the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has begun the recruitment process for 8,022 driver and carrier posts.

Alongside, female drivers with a one-year-license can apply for the positions. Also, the women have been provided with relief for the minimum height to apply. The height has now been reduced from 160 cm to 153 cm.

Meanwhile, the male drivers with experience in driving heavy vehicles have been provided with relief. Under which, the drivers with a one-year-experience instead of a three-year-experience in driving heavy vehicles can apply for the post.

The applications for the same have to be submitted by February 15 and accordingly, the written exams will be conducted on February 24.

Currently, 30 per cent seats are reserved for women in the current recruitment and accordingly, 289 female candidates have applied for the posts. The corporation has been thriving to promote the employment of female drivers and carriers in ST Corporation and therefore, they have diluted the regulations.
