The passengers of State Transport (ST) buses face difficulties due to various reasons and when they file a complaint about the same, they usually go unanswered. This has resulted in a communication gap between the passengers and the authorities. Therefore, to bridge the gap, ST Corporation has directed all the buses to display the telephone numbers of all its depot chiefs.
Moreover, the ST buses have also asked to share the numbers of all its Head of Departments. Meanwhile, Transport Minister and MSRTC Chairman Anil Parab has asked the concerned authorities to make necessary arrangements for the same on a priority basis.
On average, ST buses record a daily ridership of 67 lakh passengers and these passengers have troubles reaching out to the concerned authorities, in case of an issue. Taking in consideration the communication gap, the ST Corporation intends to resolve these issues as soon as possible.

On the other hand, the Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST) recently made an announcement about addition of two new routes for AC Mini buses.
One service will be from Goregaon to Adarsh Nagar in Aarey Colony and the other will be from Grant Road to J. Mehta Road in Malabar Hill. For both the routes, the first bus service will start at 6:00 am and the last bus will be at 10:00 pm.
Notably, the BEST has been trying to establish maximum communication with its passengers whereas it has been alleged that ST Corporation have been passive towards the feedback provided by their consumers. There have been various instances where the passengers have called the allotted numbers to voice their issues but allegedly, the phone calls go unanswered.
Meanwhile, the depots and the department heads have been directed by the State Transport Minister to take necessary steps when the passengers reach out to them.
