Chief Minister Eknath Shinde chaired the Maharashtra state cabinet meeting at Mantralaya today, September 30. A total of 38 decisions were taken for the development of Mumbai. These decisions come ahead of the assembly elections and the implementation of the model code of conduct in early October. 

CM Shinde approved many steps to benefit citizens before the new government is formed. The meeting also covered several key decisions concerning infrastructure in Mumbai. 

Here are the 10 key decisions for the city’s development:

1. The construction of the Orange Gate to Marine Drive Tunnel will be expedited by the government. An interest-free loan has also been approved by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA).

2. The Thane Circular Metro Project will be expedited with the approval of a revised budget of INR 12,200 crore.

3. An underground tunnel connecting Thane and Borivali will receive a loan of INR 15,000 crore.

4. Slum rehabilitation in Kamaraj Nagar and Ramabai Ambedkar Nagar will receive government support.

5. A plan for reasonable rental housing for ineligible slum dwellers in Dharavi was introduced.

6. A National Centre of Excellence will be established by the Sports Department.

7. JSW Infrastructure Developers will develop a multipurpose port project at Murbe in Palghar District.

8. The Sri Siddhivinayak Ganapati Mandir Committee will be increased to 15 additional members.

9. Stamp duty reductions were granted for Metro Three Project victims undergoing rehabilitation (Revenue Department).

10. The Institute of Chemical Technology in Thane was approved.

The state cabinet also made 13 other important decisions affecting various departments across Maharashtra:

1. The pay for Kotwals was increased by 10%, with compassionate policy applied.

2. Gram Rozgar Sevaks will now receive INR 8,000 per month, along with an incentive subsidy.

3. A subsidy program for domestic cow farming was launched.

4. The Water Resources Department will set up a Water Resources Information Centre for better water planning.

5. The retirement and death gratuity limit was increased to INR 20 lakhs.

6. The budget allocation for home guards was increased, benefiting 40,000 house guards.

7. A committee will be formed to oversee Ayurvedic recruitment at Unani College.

8. 26 new ITI institutes were approved for the state.

9. Employees will be exempt from a one-day technical block.

10. 4860 special education posts will be created to support the state's needs.

11. State decided not to waive the government guarantee charge.

12. A new organ donation and transplantation system will be promoted.

13. A new regulation for state military schools was approved.
