A 4-year-old boy was crushed to death by a speeding car in Wadala on Saturday evening, December 21. The car was driven by a 19-year-old man, Sandeep Gole, who is a resident of Vile Parle.

According to the information given by the police, the accident took place near Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar College in Wadala. 

The child, Ayush Laxman Kinwade, lived with his grandmother on the footpath near Ambedkar College.

Police said that the victim's family lives on the footpath and his father is a laborer. The accused, who was driving a Hyundai Creta, was soon arrested.

As per interim reports, Gole was reversing his car. At this time, Ayush, who was playing on the road, was crushed by the accused. Ayush suffered serious injuries in the accident. Due to which he was immediately admitted to the hospital. However, the doctors KEM Hospital, Parel, was declared 'brought dead'.

Meanwhile, was the driver drunk at the time of the accident? The police are investigating about the same. His medical report is awaited.

The police are also checking the CCTV to understand the situation at the scene. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

It is pertinent to note that this comes days after the horrific Kurla BEST bus crash incident which saw death toll of nearly 9 people. The same week also reported two more similar cruel accidents.
