IMD issues yellow alert for Mumbai, Thane and Raigad

Heavy rains have been lashing Mumbai city and suburbs since Tuesday. It was raining throughout the night. It is raining even on Wednesday, June 19. 


The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light to moderate rain over the city and suburbs. Also, heavy rain is predicted in some areas in Mumbai in the next few hours. According to the forecast given by senior meteorologist Manikrao Khule, between June 18 and June 25, Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg districts will receive heavy to very heavy rainfall.

Also, according to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, heavy rains have been predicted in some parts of the state in the next 3 to 4 days. Heavy rain will occur in Vidarbha, Central Maharashtra and Konkan. So, a warning has been given that heavy rains will fall in Mumbai, Pune, Thane, Raigad and Ratnagiri districts. Apart from that, rain warning has also been issued in some parts of West and North Maharashtra.


The Meteorological Department has predicted that the monsoon will become fully active and cover the entire Maharashtra in the next 48 hours. Against this background, yellow alert of rain has been given to some districts. Meanwhile, the minimum temperature has been recorded at 26 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature is expected to be 33 degrees Celsius. The average temperature is likely to be around 26.8 degrees Celsius. Winds are expected to blow at a speed of 5.6 km/h from Southeast direction.
